Island Firefighters responded last night at 2057 Hrs for a report of an
apartment fire with a person trapped on Baseline Rd.
Grand
Island 9-5 went on location with smoke showing from the front door. Car
81 reported a working fire. Command reported heavy fire in a basement
apartment in a 3 story apartment building. One victim was located and
extricated & pronounced at the scene.
Sheridan Park &
City of Tonawanda (FAST) responded as mutual aid companies to the scene.
Brighton filled in at Grand Island Headquarters.
The fire was under control in about 25 minutes.
