Scranton Firefighters responded yesterday morning at 1024 Hrs for a report of a structure fire on Columbia St.

9-1 went on location with heavy smoke showing from the roof of a 1 1/2
story cape house. Command reported fire from the roof, requested a 3rd
alarm to standby at Station 2, further reported heavy fire conditions on
the 2nd floor, and requested the 3rd alarm Engines to the scene.
Hamburg,
Lake Shore, Big Tree, Newton Abbott, Orchard Park (FAST), Armor, Lake
View, Woodlawn, Eden (FAST), Blasdell, & North Boston responded as
mutual aid companies.
The fire was placed under control in 37 minutes.
